Today after we came home from church, I sat down on the couch with Erika on my lap. I was getting ready to put her down for a nap so I was taking her shoes off and when I was finished she looked at me and said "night night?" I was surprised because that is the first time she actually requested that activity! Then when I got up to her room I did the regular routine - turn on air cleaner, turn on CD,
paci in her mouth and stand holding and rocking and rubbing her back. With in SECONDS she was out. That has NEVER happened other than when she was just a baby. I guess that Sunday school we bring her to is busy!

I can't say that we truly did a lot today. A few things around the house and just hanging around with Erika. At one point Erika and I went on a
CVS run for diapers and her vitamins. While I was there I bought the washable white crayola paint and some construction paper. I wanted to paint her feet and then turn it upside down to make ghosts. I remember Maureen did this last year when Erika was just a baby. On the way home we saw Aunt Judy from next door out so we invited her over for the big ghost craft too.

Well, Erika HATED this craft project! She cried no wait screamed when I put the paint on her feet and wouldn't stop till I was able to get her tights back on. I did get two really cute foot prints out of her though! The battery to Peters camera is charging so I Will share a picture of the ghosts tomorrow. So then Aunt Judy wanted to try. Erika didn't like the paint on her feet either! And when Aunt Judy stood up, she went slipping since the paint is so slippery! And Erika kept indicating that Aunt Judy needs to put her shoe back on! Then I gave it a try and that didn't thrill Erika either! I did not paint both feet of course since the right one is still stitched up and bandaged...but doing really well!

I felt bad that Peter and I were kinda lazy with taking Erika outside today (and it was so beautiful out too) so I took her out for a walk (holding her hand not stroller) after our
CVS run. In the picture above she is eating a strawberry from the plants that Peter grows. Usually that is her routine with him but I had to fill in while he got a few things accomplished inside.

Erika was pretty much on food strike today. At lunch she totally lost it (and so did I). I didn't even attempt dinner because lunch was such a disaster. Hopefully things in the eating department will go better tomorrow. I would love to take Erika for a pumpkin tomorrow on my day off but it is so crowded at all the farms right now especially this weekend, that I will have to wait till the weekdays are here.

In my opinion, Erika is a real handful right now. Tantrums, hitting, whining and very strong willed. But if you ask Maureen, Michelle, or Miss. Kathy her Sunday school teacher, they will all tell you that she is an angel! It cracks me up even when we are out Erika is super sweet to everyone saying "
hiiiiiiii" to everyone. But when she is at home she lets loose like a wild turkey!!

Look at the expression on her face in the picture below, especially her eyes!

Ah the wonder of a wind chime!

I am so jealous of all you northeners weather right now. We are going to a pumpkin patch next weekend and I feel it will be 90 degrees out. Sorry Erika is such a handful.
