Yup, today was the big day! I had a great birthday. It started at 3:30 this morning with a foot disturbance...but I will get into that later. Erika woke up at 6:00 and I was so beyond exhausted because of the 3:30 foot disturbance. I was falling asleep while holding the bottle for Erika (I used to doze off all the time during her newborn days). Peter told me to go back upstairs and go to bed. For the first time in 16 months I actually took him up on his offer and went back to bed. Actually I probably did it before but it is so rare. I slept till almost 9:00 and it was so nice. What a great way to start my birthday.
Then Peter went back to bed and I fed Erika breakfast, played with her, gave her a bath and put her down for a nap. She spent about half and hour playing with the perfume travel case my mother gave me for my birthday! She likes to take everything out and then put it back in.
While I was giving Erika her bath there was a knock on the door and then a woman ran off our porch quick. After Erika stepped out of the bath we checked the patio and there was a beautiful flower delivery from my mother. The flowers are so pretty/ You can see them on the dining room table in some of these birthday pictures.
After Erika's nap we went out to CVS to buy some dressing materials for the foot. We also went to the food store for a few items, including a bouquet of flowers for Michelle for helping me so much while my foot was out of commission. Then we dropped that and a card off at Michelle's.
My only request for my birthday was to go to Apple Bee's for the California shrimp salad that they have...or had! We met Pat and Pete there (Peters father and his wife). Erika was excited to see Grandma and Grandpa. Guess what? They stopped making that salad that I had been salivating over all week! They stopped it this passed Monday. This was the only flaw to my birthday! No more California shrimp salad! Boo hoo. The picture above is from when we were waiting outside Apple Bee's for Grandma and Grandpa to come.
Look at all the stuff i have with me for when I take Erika out to eat! She looks so calm and innocent in the picture but in reality she has become a challenge!
When we came home there was a surprise party waiting for me! The house was decorated and all! TOTALLY UNBELIEVABLE! I have never been truly surprised for any party before. This was the first time ever. Even with gifts, I always seem to know so this was mind blowing to me. Michelle, her husband JC, Isabelle, Aunt Judy from next door and then the rest of the crew that was out to dinner.
I had such an incredible birthday and received so many nice gifts. I am feeling so special and cared about from so many people in my life. I am beyond thankful and couldn't ask for a better birthday! Enjoy a few more pictures from the big day!
My favorite special order ice cream cake from Michelle! YUMMY!
The boys taking care of the girls!
Okay, could I be any more happy? And check out my birthday princess hat that Michelle gave me!
I had to borrow Isabelle for the Happy Birthday song because Erika was too grouchy!
Okay - that's just scary!!
