Summer Sunday

As usual, today was another busy day! We started the day off by officially selling our kitchen stools which were way to high for our kitchen counter. They were beautiful stools that were just sitting there for show. So I put them on Craig's List and in about 2 weeks they went! Now we need to get stools that are the correct height. I won't make that mistake again. Then we went car shopping for me. That went really well. I still have my heart set on the Santa Fe. I put a deposit down on a limited edition slate blue one. The only thing that could halt the process at this point is if they offer me some extremely high financing rate. Otherwise....fingers crossed, it will be mine. I must admit I am quite nervous about having my own vehicle again...no less a brand new one! That is a picture of what it looks like. Although it looks a lot different in person. After car shopping we were starving so we went to this little Greek restaurant called The Pita House. It was difficult to know what to order that would be low fat but I took a Greek salad and some chicken. The manager was so nice and gave us some sample red lentil soup for Erika and humus. In addition she had chicken and carrots from Daddy's soup! Erika had won over the hearts of the entire staff and was getting so much attention. Yeah Erika....your first Greek restaurant! When we came home, we had this idea that we should bring Peter's cat Burt outside for some fresh air. Burt is so old and it is sad to watch her hobble around. She really didn't appreciate the outside as much as we had hoped for. Erika was excited to have her out there with her though!
Due to Burt being so old, she really isn't so friendly. Erika tries to be friendly with her but Burt always meows at her and sometimes hisses. I tell Erika that Burt doesn't feel good and she just wants to be left alone. I still think it is adorable how Erika bends down to take a closer look!
"Can I pet her Mommy?"

Two things about Erika right now -- One - she is doing this new way of speaking where she involves her tongue in everything she attempts to say. I love it! She almost looks like a little lizard when she does it. Two - I am going to bring her to the doctor tomorrow because I am worried about her. She is still throwing up when she coughs too hard. This is happening at least once a day and I don't think it is normal or okay.
Today we had a surprise visit from God Mommy Debbie and her family. They were out by us on a tour of a lab and then we exchanged a few texts and the arrangements were made to come over for coffee and dessert. Blueberry pie...more temptations!
Of course we took the usual stroll down to the beach. Erika just loves that water in yet when I try to get her in the backyard pool she cries! Who could figure these kids out? Debbie and her son Ryan have so much fun entertaining Erika and she loves the attention. Bill, Debbie's husband was there also.
That's the light of my life holding onto my hand! I just love her to pieces and would do anything for her. Not in a spoiled way...I mean in a love way.

Daddy discovered how much Erika likes the water and the the two of them will make some plans to come down to the beach. Of course I will be there also! If Erika would have had her swimsuit on she would have loved to go in. Anyway, the visit with Debbie and family was great.

Looks like a very nice car, how exciting!

Mmmmm... I love Greek food, wish I could have been there!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all the pics, especially the first one with the flowers, and all the ones on the beach!

What a gorgeous photo of Erika (after the one "can I pet her mommy"). Her mouth looks like a little heart. Good luck with the new wheels - snazzy! I don't get these daily barfs either. Am glad you're going to the Dr. again. I'd lose the key too. Too small for her to put in her mouth!
