Erika has been doing a great job with using a fork and eating from a bowl or plate (as opposed to the highchair tray). She has difficulty getting the food to stay on the fork so she always hands me the fork and says "Mommee." Which means to get the food on the fork for her. I love that she doesn't give up just because it is difficult for her to do.
For a while she loved meatballs but the last few times that I gave her them, they have not been a big hit and mostly get tossed in the garbage. Her latest favorite is when I make a cheese omelet. I still feed her the baby food at each feeding too. A fruit in the morning, a yellow vegetable in the afternoon and a green veggie at dinner. This way I know she is getting proper vitamins.
And then sometimes a small treat. But in the case of the picture above, I am the one who had the treat and Erika is hopeful that I have saved her something! She ALWAYS wants to eat whatever I have. I like watching her put her little hand into the bag and dig in to see if anything is in there for her to snack on.
"Come on Mommy, you didn't save me anything???" Poor baby she should have asked me BEFORE I inhaled all the cookies! She seems to be shying away from ice pops at the moment which I suspect is because the weather isn't so steamy hot. Fall is in the air for sure. Although it is supposed to be hot this week.
Erika is a very good eater. The only problem is that she seems to only eat well for me. Nobody else has been able to get her to eat the same way/amount that I do. I am a little concerned about this since I will be going back to work on Tuesday and will not be feeding her two of her three meals.

P.S. - just in case you were feeling bad that all Erika got was an empty bag...if you look on her tray in the picture above you will see that she does have an oreo from the bag she was holding in the pictures!

Wow you are super brave to feed her in clothes with no bib! She will get the feeding thing eventually, at least she can hold the fork and make it to her mouth without dropping the food! WTG
