Today Erika got up at 7:00 am after sleeping the night (thank goodness). She played for awhile, had some breakfast and then took her morning nap. I wanted her to be nice and rested up for our visit with Kim. Kim is a friend of mine from high school (9 th grade). We haven't seen each other for about 9 years so it was our own little high school reunion.
Erika and I waited outside for Kim to come. We practiced walking, looked at all the pretty flowers and pulled some grass! Erika has always loved being outside and still does. She is like me I guess because I love being outside too...just not outside in a car :(
We went inside for a little bit and Erika played with her most favorite toy...the car! I just can't get over how happy this car makes her. Does this mean I can clear out all the other toys cluttering the living room?? Just kidding. I love all her toys. They make me happy because they remind me of her and Erika makes me beyond happy.
When Kim came over Erika gave her a big smile which is a compliment to Kim. Erika is friendly but is still cautious with people that she doesn't know. She warmed up to Kim right away. It was as if she knew her already. Kim was so sweet and brought Erika a set of toys to play with in the sand. THANK YOU KIM!
First we talked in the living room and played for a while. Then we went outside in the steaming hot sun and melted for awhile. Erika went for a nice nap so that Kim and I could talk uninterrupted (we had a lot of catching up to do). We ordered a pizza and a salad. Kim brought some yummy applesauce with brown butter cupcakes and we stuffed our faces!
After Erika got up from her nap, she had some lunch. Then we all went for a walk down to the beach. It was extra beautiful because everything is extra beautiful right now because of my crazy accident. It truly feels like I have had a second chance at life and I know for sure that Opa reached his hand down on Wednesday and saved me. Thank you Opa...I wasn't ready to join you up there yet. Erika needs her Mommy.
Thank you Mom and Michelle for the beautiful flowers. (left bouquet - Mom, right-Michelle)

No wonder you melted, you were both wearing black and Erika was wearing blue!
