13 Months Old Today

Erika is beyond the one year mark and is officially 13 months old. Thank God her toe is all better and it was just a temporary situation. Today Erika awoke at 5:00 which I wasn't too thrilled about but then she went back to sleep from 6:00 - 9:00 which is a really long time for her. Of course I should have slept but instead tried to get many things accomplished.

When she woke up, she was in a great mood and we went about our day. Breakfast, bath and then off to BJ's (this is like a Sam's club or Price club) we went. It was so crowded there. Actually before we went there we stopped in at Kmart to see the deals and Damiane' was right they are having a HUGE sale. But I behaved myself and only bought Erika two pairs of shorts for $1.50 each and a shirt to match for 3.00! The sales were incredible. I want to go back which says a lot because as Peter and my mother know I HATE KMART!!!!! They even had women's clothing super cheap but I didn't even stop to look. The Kmart's here in NY are really lousy compared to the Kmart's in the rest of the country.

That's my little book reader! She is so good about sitting down and looking through the books. I am still not doing enough reading to her but I have spent some more time since I have been off pointing different things out to her in the books. That book she is looking at is till the all time favorite. Baby faces. Thats the one my mother gave her awhile ago.

I take a lot of car seat pictures of Erika because when I am driving I keep looking back at her and she makes me so happy. It has not become "old" that I have a baby in the back that belongs to me!! Erika's adorable ensemble today was given to me from another student that I had a year ago! Kim is her name and she stopped by my classroom this year on Erika's birthday with two outfits for her! So sweet. I love this shirt on her and wish I could pull something like that off! It warms my heart that I have such caring thoughtful sweet students.

When the mail comes, I always give Erika the catalogs to look through. This serves two purposes - one of course it keeps her busy and two she rips them up for me so that I don't order any thing!! I have to give credit to Daddy, I learned giving her the catalogs from him. It keeps her occupied for at least 1/2 an hour! There is a part 2 to this posting coming up. The second half of the day and....there is a clue in the background of the last picture for something else...
