What a Day!

Okay, so I am getting spoiled by having Erika all to myself everyday! I can't help it, I just love being with her. We are having so much fun together and both peter and I see such a huge change in her personality from being home with me. She is so happy and friendly. Erika was up at 6:00 this morning which didn't exactly thrill me but I got up with her and we snuggled on the couch. I told her that tomorrow she should wait till 7:30...so we shall see how well she listened. We made blueberry pancakes for Daddy before he left for work. And oh were they so so yummy. Erika didn't want any but peter and I loved them. Erika prefers the plain ones better. I was smart and took my shower before peter left for work other wise I would have to wait till nap time.Today Erika is showing off her new Elmo shirt from Grandma. You can't tell from the picture but the shirt says LOVE underneath Elmo. So cute. After Erika's bath this morning we went for a much needed Target run. Mainly I just needed household items but of course we picked up a few extras too. On the way there I felt bad because Erika fell asleep in the car! Normally i would turn back and let her sleep in the crib but we were so close so i followed through. Erika cracks me up how she sits in the car with her legs stretched out and all. I recently found a new tickle spot on her - those little toes of hers! That makes her giggle like you wouldn't believe. Also a cute story I kept meaning to share. On Blues Clues the mailbox always delivers a letter. Well on yesterdays episode it delivered actual letters like "A B C." Erika was not happy about this at all and kept saying "no." Thankfully they also had the regular letter in there too!So into Target we went. So much for my pj day right?? We had a fun time in target though and Erika didn't give me a hard time until the very end and that was because nap time was approaching. She usually naps somewhere between 12 and 12:30 and it was 12:00 when we were on like to check out. One fun thing that Erika got was some tub toy Thomas the Trains. But I don't think we will actually be putting them in the tub. She seems to be into those trains. While Erika napped, I napped too! That is kinda a promise I made to myself for the week. Especially with a slight cold. I am going to nap while she naps. Usually that is my time to get everything done. So it is very difficult for me to surrender and just nap but i have to admit it is kinda nice. Only problem is that today I had a rough time falling asleep and then a rough time getting back up again. After lunch for Erika, we went to the local park that I wanted to try out with Erika. It was a chilly 40 degrees but no wind so to me it felt kinda nice. Erika was very very VERY excited when we pulled up and kept saying she wanted the slide but when I took her on the slide she freaked out on me! Silly girl. Anyway, we had the entire playground to ourselves and I found it to be very relaxing and peaceful.Erika truly spent most of her time walking up and down this small staircase. She was working so hard at getting herself to the top and then right back down again. It was so nice to let her have open space that she could go where she wanted to go. We will definitely be heading back to this park.Second best to walking up and down the stairs was the swing! She was so excited every time I pushed her. It really was tons of fun. Then when we came back home we set up a little play area in Mommy and daddy's bedroom. There are so many times that I need to get things done in our bedroom and then Erika has nothing to do in our room. So I set up a small area next to my side of the bed for her. That little doll care station was given to me last week from another teacher that i work with. It is such a cute toy. There is a monitor on the top and when you press the button it makes various sounds. Also it has a motorized swing for the doll. It is really really cute!
