Oh my goodness....what a afternoon and evening we had. It started out fine but quickly changed. On the way home from work
Erika and I stopped at
Walgreens for diapers and perhaps some St.
Patricks Day craft items (which they didn't have). They have all their spring items out included the standard balls. Erika got so excited and just had to have one. That was one of the best $1.50
that I have ever spent on her! She LOVES that ball...oh and her pocketbook from Kim in the picture.

Then Michelle and I had plans to take the girls to the park since we were having a 50 degree heat wave. All was still going well. The girls were having fun at the house and Michelle and I could have easily settled in with a hot chocolate at the house and just watched the girls play. But we both felt it was our "motherly duty" to haul them off to the park!

On the way leaving the house, Michelle was holding Belle's hand and told her to "jump" while holding onto Michelle's hand. So they kinda jumped down one little step and some how Belle hurt her foot. Michelle and I thought it was nothing and so we proceeded onto the park. the girls were so funny in the car and were having a great time. We assumed that belle only cried cause she became scared.

So then we get to the park and it is a bad scene. Belle was miserable. Michelle tried to get her to walk and we discovered that she wouldn't put any weight on it. Both of us thought something truly must be wrong. Kids this age don't really know about faking an injury like that. We stayed at the park a little bit just to see if things improved. The entire time, Belle wouldn't let Michelle put her down.

Erika was a great sport the whole time. I mean we weren't really having too much playground fun at this point. In yet she remained polite and calm. I was impressed. After probably about 15 minutes, we decided it was time to go and evaluate the foot again.

So we came home. Just as we had decided to take Belle to the ER, peter pulled up and offered to take Erika in the house and stay with her. Worked out perfect and then we went to the ER with Belle. As of now it turns out it is just bruised. But holy cow, so crazy what can happen from just some
ordinary fun.

And so i miss Erika because I missed dinner, bath time and bed time with her! But peter did a great job filling in for me.
