Erika and I are so glad that it is Friday and we get to spend the whole weekend cuddling up! Today I went to the aquarium with my students and we actually returned back to school a little early which meant that I got out a little early which meant getting Erika in my arms sooner than later! So we came home, changed into cooler clothing and hit the swing set! It was actually close to 80 degrees today which is the warmest day we have had! I love the look Erika is giving me in the picture above. Erika told me that being out in the warm weather reminds her of good times spent with Uncle Bobby and Aunt Donna! Silly baby.
Erika's buddy Isabelle came over today also. She had a few shots at the doctor and wanted to be cheered up by doing some swing time with Erika. They also came inside and played for awhile too. Erika is hysterical with that walker toy from the video on Wednesday. She makes this really determined serious "watch out here I come" face! I have to capture it on camera.
It is very possible that Erika has reached the "one nap a day" stage as opposed to the two that she was taking. Maureen is having a difficult time getting Erika to nap for any length of time. I will have to see what she does for me over the weekend. Truly the only time that I would say Erika was really a napper was when she was an itty bitty baby. Erika is enjoying climbing around on the swing set, and mommy is enjoying taking her picture!
My students this year are so so sweet! I truly enjoy being with them and they fill me up with happiness! Today on the aquarium trip, one of my students surprised me with a sea horse pen. In class I have made reference that I would like to be a sea horse in my next life because the male is who carries, births and cares for the children! Too cute and funny. Then there was this other girl who bought Erika a stuffed penguin. It is truly a treat to be a part of these kids world.
Here is a picture from today at the aquarium with Lily (on the left) and Sarah (on the right). Both of these girls are AMAZING!!! I love them. That girl in the back ducking her head in doesn't belong in the picture!
AND...look what Erika has to look forward to in the morning!!! All these birthday gifts from Damiane'!!! I don't know who is more excited - Erika or myself!

I look really bad in that picture... and you never got a chance to show me that restored turtle.
Lol thanks.
You should have taken a video of us doing the wave, but I really think we've beaten that other school.

I am so glad that you enjoy your jobs and students. Now the weekend is here and you have lots of Erika time. You are really getting a lot of use out of that swingset and Erika is a pro at getting around.
