Virginia Vacation - Day 1

We started our trip to Virginia at 5:15 in the morning. I was pretty impressed that we all made it out of the house by that time. It may actually be a record for us! Erika was so excited that we were finally going on our trip. We have had her hyped up on the whole thing for days now.

So it took us about 9 hours because of hitting some traffic in various locations. Erika did GREAT in the car. I have no complaints. In fact she was very excited every time we would go over a bridge (just like me when I was little) and she also liked the tunnel too. She only slept 20 minutes of the entire trip! And behaved the whole time. She must have traveling in her blood from all the road trips I took when I was younger
The place we are staying at is beyond beautiful and we love it. Erika was so excited when we got here and was thrilled to have her own room with two big girl beds in it! She was smiling so big and running all over the place with such excitement. I kept thinking - Oh no she is never going to want to go back home!

Well, last night sleeping in a big girl didn't really go so great. She was all hyped up but then every time I checked on her, she wasn't sleeping. Not once did she complain but I just felt bad for her so eventually I set up the pack and play for her and she was thrilled not to mention went to sleep right away!
Today we had breakfast in the dining room that is in here, took showers and Erika took her bath. Then we took Erika's baby for a walk around to check out what is here. As soon as Erika saw the swimming pool, she wanted to check it out and eventually we all went and got our suits on so that we could go in.
Erika putting her feet in and checking out the water! It was nice. Warm but not too warm.

Unfortunately we didn't get to stay in the pool for very long because it started raining. But the time we spent was a ton of fun. Erika adjusted quicker than I thought she would.

So far this vacation is really nice just what we needed!
