Exciting day for Erika today! We went out in the yard nice and early and set up the pool and other backyard toys like her water table. Any time we set up that pool she is excited! Erika always wants to go right in and I try to explain to her that the water needs to warm up and the sun needs to warm it. It would be freezing if she went in right after we filled it us with the hose!
The picture above is Erika making her funny face! I don't know who taught her that one but it was not Peter or I. I kinda think it came from one of the t.v. shows that she watches. It makes me laugh like so many other things that she does. I have mentioned it before but with Erika in my life not a single day goes by that I don't smile or laugh and not just once but usually multiple times! She is the best gift ever!
She was pretty
brave getting in the water because even though I let it warm for about 3 hours, to me it still seemed pretty chilly. But she loved it! I put my feet in and she was disappointed that I didn't have my bathing suit on so that I could go in with her.
Then while we were playing in the backyard, Erika's
Oma showed up with Daddy! She came out to spend the day with us and Erika was VERY happy about this! We played for awhile and then went out for some lunch. Erika was running all over the house with such excitement. It was really nice. She did great at lunch too especially considering that we didn't really choose a "kid friendly" place. But she did so good and even ate her grilled cheese like a big girl. Then again, eating is not a problem of hers! Never has been.
In the evening Aunt Margaret and cousin Kaitlyn came over and spent time playing with Erika. We ordered some yummy pizza. Erika had a GREAT time. She loves having people over and better yet she loves having so many people playing with her. She was putting on quite the show for all of us! We had a very nice day. Busy, but nice and boy oh boy am I tired!
