Monday proved to be a really hot one! This was the hottest day that we have had this summer so far. So Erika and I prepared the backyard for some summer fun. We cleaned and filled the pool and also cleaned up many of her toys that we keep outside.

The picture above is Erika being such a good girl while I took my shower. She sits on my bed, watches t.v. and reads her books. This may seem like no big deal but for Erika it is. It took a long time to get to the point where I can take a shower without scheduling it with peter first. She is such an active child that I never used to be able to leave her unattended. I used to be envious of how Belle would just sit on the bed and wait for Michelle.

By the time Erika and I were ready to start the day it was already lunch time! So we went for a treat and both got kids meals at
McDonald's. I had plans of bringing it back to the house and eating outside but when I actually got outside and felt how hot it was, I changed my mind and we ate there!

The trip to Virginia and being in the pool there seems to have changed Erika's water habits. I used to fill the pool up and go through the whole routine only to have her tell me she doesn't want to go in. But today she was a
different child. Swimming away and getting all wet.

I had a doctors appointment so we had to split the day in half. The appointment was at 1:00. Erika and I heard the baby's heart beat and now she makes the sound of what she heard. She was really well behaved while I was at the doctor. All is well on that situation. I am 17 weeks and at the next
appointment hopefully they will be able to determine the gender if the baby cooperates. Although I have strong feelings that it is a boy!

After the doctor, Erika and I took a nap. First thing out of her mouth when she woke up was "Oh Mommy, I want to go in my swimming pool." So I put my suit on with her and we went back outside to play. I had a ton of fun with her. We like to splash each other.

In the picture below it was Erika's idea to pretend that we were sleeping for the picture that Peter was taking. She is so silly with some of her ideas.
