Today Erika got all dressed up so that her and I could go visit my closest friend that I work with. That's why Erika calls her Aunt Jo, because she is such a great friend. Jo makes Easter Bonnets every year and had one waiting for Erika so we headed over there to check it out.
I wasn't too sure how Erika would handle the whole hat situation. She usually doesn't like anything like that put on her head. But I didn't want her to refuse to wear it after Jo had worked so hard on it! So Peter and I started talking to her about the hat and putting it on before she even left the house. And then on the way there I talked to her about putting it on too.
Erika was so impressed with how she looked today. She kept showing Peter her hair and then her shoes and her dress. It was cute. She was even walking different, like all delicate and extra feminine. As you can see in the photo above, Barney now is attached to Erika at all times. I have ever seen her like that with anything!
So anyway, we made it to Aunt Jo's house (after being stuck in some terrible traffic) and Erika was GREAT with the hat! She played the game for us - put it on, posed and let both of us take our pictures of her! She was a great sport. Aunt Jo had this HUGE coloring book waiting for Erika and a beautiful stuffed bunny. So sweet.
We brought Aunt Jo some Easter flowers and of course Erika was very interested in being the one to give them to her. We went out for pizza for lunch and then to a coffee house for dessert - all Aunt Jo's treat! Very very nice.Erika behaved great again. I don't know how she does it. I have been running her every where and she holds up well. Actually she holds up even better than I do!
