Happy Birthday Peter (Daddy)!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PETER! Today we had an awesome day! We celebrated Erika's Daddy and my husband's birthday. The morning started off with Erika and I putting the finishing touches on Peter's birthday cards. She is so cute when she colors a line she points to it and does like this panting sound for excitement! It is difficult to explain it in words but I can assure you that it is really cute. Erika is very proud when she makes something. After the cards, Erika and I gave Peter some presents. Some nice new shirts and a gift card to choose whatever his heart desires. Erika helped with opening the gifts and cards. We have both discovered that when you have children, you no longer have the privilege of opening your own gifts! Off to church we went after that.At church Erika is still in "training" on how to sit through about half the service. We used to leave her with Miss. Kathy the entire time and are now breaking her in. She is doing great. It would be a lie if I said having her there is no problem. It is a lot more work to try and keep her quiet and actually pay attention to what is going on. Today she actually went up for the children's sermon and sat with all the other kids. It was a proud moment for both Peter and I.
Both of the pictures above are at Sunday school. It was really nice at church because the congregation gave Peter a bouquet of flowers for his birthday! That made me feel very happy for him. Our church is such a nice one and I am glad that we are raising Erika in the church. It is definitely what I had always pictured for my child/children.

We came home to a great birthday surprise for Peter! He received an edible fruit arrangement! So YUMMY! And Erika was excited about the balloon. It was a crowd pleaser for sure. While Erika napped I went shopping for the birthday dinner and cake ingredients. Chicken cutlet, mashed potatoes and corn was the birthday boy's requested meal. Strawberry shortcake for dessert. We had Aunt Judy over for dinner and dessert. The weather was so beautiful that we all played outside for awhile. It was such a nice day and I hope that Peter enjoyed it as much as I did!
