BASEBALL!

Oh my goodness was it BEAUTIFUL out today! This is Peter's birthday weekend and he got to choose what we would do. We had talked about the Game farm but man is it expensive. We actually decided to drive into the district where I teach and watch some of my students play baseball. I have this one student Justin that has really left an impression on me this year. Well today was opening day and I knew he would be thrilled if I showed up and he was!! It was so sweet the way he reacted. There were probably about 5 or 6 of my students there and they were all pretty excited that I came to watch them play. Erika had her little Dora chair with her and we bought her a bat and ball so that she and Daddy could practice in the field over there. We also brought some bubbles with us and a Frisbee.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot her mitt! She has a pink mitt and ball and Daddy was trying to explain the whole concept to her. It was such a nice time and extra special because it felt like I had two such important things to me at the same time! My students are my world and Erika and Peter are my world. It was great! Of course Miss. Social Butterfly that Erika is, she made friends within the first 5 minutes that we were there! She had girls blowing bubbles with her, playing ball and tossing the Frisbee. She is great at sharing all her things with people she doesn't even know. Sometimes almost too sharing where she lets other children just walk off with her stuff. It's funny though because she is not very sharing when it comes to me. She never wants to share her snacks with me!When I bought the bubbles that Erika is holding in the picture, I thought they were such a cool concept. But then when it came to using them...not so great! It says that you just squeeze the bottle, the wand will come up and then you blow the bubbles. But when you squeeze the bottle, all the soap drips all over your hands! YUCK! Erika was trying so hard to even just get one bubble to come out! While the game was happening we took a small break and went to the park that is connected to the field. But we didn't stay there too long because the big kids were taking over and it wasn't fun. Other than the long drive all the way to where I work, it was a great day. Erika had fun and so did we. By the time we came home, I was not sure who was more tired, Erika or her parents! Oh on the way home we had a treat for Peters birthday - Quiznos for lunch/dinner.And that's Justin and I. Teaching is such an AMAZING job!

sounds like you had a great day!! YAY!!!! as for the bubbles: they make a spill proof bubble cup. It is awesome. Try googling it to find out where to get it. The girls got it as an easter gift and not sure where it was bought.
