I Just Love Being Mommy

Last night Erika had a bad dream and woke up crying for Daddy. Sometimes she wakes up crying for me and sometimes it is Daddy. Peter went in and comforted her, restarted the music, rubbed her back and laid her back down. She was up by 6:45 and and so were we.
Erika's cough was very bad this morning and we kept debating on if we should go to church. I don't want other people thinking that Erika is sick and that they could catch it. Also, she just seemed miserable with the non-stop coughing. So we made the decision to take this Sunday off from church. Of course after i gave her some allergy medication, she stopped coughing but it was already too late to go.After breakfast, a bath and a morning nap...we went outside and rediscovered all of Erika's outside toys. It was like Christmas for Erika because she didn't remember anything from last year! She was excited digging through the box of our outside toys.Peter and I couldn't get over how big Erika looks on this toy. Last year when Michelle gave it to her, Erika was just a little mush and now she looks so big! She was having a lot of fun with it today! We even had our lunch outside today. It was actually very nice to just stay home and hang around in the back yard. We always feel like we should be going some where in yet it was nice to just relax back there. However, after lunch I did take Erika to the local park.
Erika was a real party pooper at the park though. I knew when we left to go there that she was tired. But it was already kinda late in the afternoon and I didn't want to put her down for another nap. Then she would have stayed up too late tonight. Anyway, we were there about 10 minutes and she actually told me that she wanted to go back to the car and that she was tired! What kid requests to leave the park because they are too tired???If you look closely, you will see that we even had Bob (our inside cat) out today. He was a little nervous at first and then was loving it eventually. I couldn't get over that Erika wanted to leave the park.I have no clue why Erika wanted all four buckets on her arms...but she did. I didn't even help her get them all on, she did it herself.
Last year Erika had very little interest in this lawn mower...but this year she likes it.
Of course I knew that Erika grew a lot in a year but man oh man I just can't get over the difference with the toys!Erika and I took her baby out for a walk up and down the block. That's our house in the background behind Erika. That walk must have really tired her out because it was shortly after that when her and I went to the park."Look Mommy, Daddy and I put all the toys in the water table!" "And as an added bonus...my clothing is all wet too!"And this is the only picture I have from the park today because my battery died as soon as I got there.

Love seeing her outside like that. You should put up some comparison pics from last year!
