Spring Sunday - Part 1

Happy spring...now where is the warm weather we are all waiting for? This morning before church I took Erika outside and we hunted for some signs of spring. But all we discovered was that it was too chilly to be out with out a jacket on! It is getting a little better everyday but still not quite there. In the mean time Erika is coughing again and sounding congested. Grrrr....I thought maybe if i dressed Erika like it was spring, it would make for a warmer day. But no such luck! Her pretty dress was a gift for her first birthday from Damiane' and her twins. I remember how big it was when we first got it and now it fits PERFECT! I just loved how girly she looks in in it. After hunting for spring, we went inside and finished getting ready for church.Look at that face! It reminds me of the faces I used to make when I didn't get my way as a child. Today we had to get to church early because peter and I were ushers and also peter had to read the first reading. We were all nervous about being ushers and doing it correctly. All went smooth and we survived! We are ready to do it again. Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE church? Well I do. at the end of the service every week we sing this song "God be with you till we meet again, may councils guide uphold you, with his sheep securely fold you....God be with you till we meet again." It is such a touching moment because the pastor always makes eye contact with each one of us. I always get the chills. Church is my reset button every week!"Hmmm....if I pull the watering can hard enough will it come through?" I was amazed that Erika allowed me to do her hair today. It didn't turn out exactly as I wanted it to but once I had it done, i didn't dare touch it! I was impressed with how she listened to me because she went to touch it once and I told her "no, don't touch it." 'And she didn't! That's my good girl...most of the time.Aunt Judy came over and we hit the road to head to church. The whole way to church Erika entertained us with her singing. I have to get that on video next. It will be difficult because usually she does that while I am driving. But oh it is so so adorable and I would love for her to see that some day when she is older! Erika has no trouble at all when we go to the nursery at church. She settles in right away. There is more to share from the rest of the day but I have some stuff to get done.
