Today Erika spent most of the day with Daddy. I left the house around 10 ish and ran many errands. It was a conflict in my head as to if I should use my alone time to get things done or to just rest. I had so much to do so of course I really didn't rest too much. Are you wondering what Erika is eating in the picture above? Well Peter bought a whole bunch of various types of fruit on Friday. Erika has been sampling each one with him and she loves everything so far. Personally I can't get past the name of what she is eating...BLOOD oranges. Just can't bring myself to eat something with that name. But she is loving them.

I had thought at one point that Erika may be allergic to oranges but now I am leaning against that.I really hope she isn't allergic to oranges because she seems to really love them. I look forward to the summer when her and I can go to the farm stands around here and pick some fresh fruit together. So anyway, I got Erika all ready for her day with Daddy and then she said "night night!" I told Peter his date requested a nap and so his plans were delayed but I left on time anyway. I was glad she napped a little because she was up early and needed the sleep.

First Daddy and Erika went to his job to do some paperwork and talk with Daddy's boss. I bet Peter was proud with his girl in his arms! I know I always am. And then they did a surprise visit to Grandma Vivienne. I don't even know the last time Vivienne has seen Erika. Peter tells me that she was amazed at how tall Erika is and how much she has grown. After a little bit of time Erika warmed up and was having a good time. Apparently one of her favorite things was a rocking chair that Vivienne has.

Meanwhile back at the house I was unloading groceries and then...I allowed myself to lay down! I didn't even finish putting everything away. Grandma Vivienne gave Erika two $5.00 bills and Peter said that Erika crumpled them up ans said "garbage!" Hmmmm....now does that mean she was expecting $100.00 bills instead? Whenever someone gives Erika cash like that I fold it up and put a little sticky note on it with the date and who it is from and then it goes into her piggy bank from GodMommy Debbie. I have this image of when she turns sixteen going through all the notes and money with her and buying a special piece of jewelery. Sometimes I put some in there too with a little note. She must have a pretty good amount already.

The weather was like spring today and so I was anxious to get Erika to the park. When Peter and Erika came home, I basically shuffled her right back out and to the park. It was already 4:40 at this point and we only had about an hour and it was getting chilly. But Erika and I still had a great time at the park.

One thing that I really like about this park so far is that every time we go - we are the ONLY ones there! Erika gets full run of the entire place. It is not even close to the pictures of the parks I see in Florida but I am going to start hunting around to see if we have any fancy Florida type parks here. And if we don't...well then we will just have to move to Florida...for the great parks they have!

So here is a question...what is one thing that New York playgrounds have that Florida playgrounds don't? I don't know what happened with Erika and the slide but she used to love it and now she is afraid. Whatever the situation is, it didn't happen with Peter or I. But it makes us both feel sad. Neither one of us force her and know that when she is ready she will brave the slide again! Maybe this summer.

Hmmmm.....did you figure out the answer to my question yet about the one thing NY parks DO have that FL parks DO NOT??? The picture above and below are the big clues for you.

SNOW, SNOW, SNOW and some more SNOW!! Well I have a little bit more to share from today but still have to get a bit done...so there will be a part two on it's way.
