June 3rd - Erika's Birthday

Happy Birthday to my beautiful baby Erika! Erika is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I love her more than words can say. At this point, both Erika and I are so partied out that I can barely keep my head up. I feel like we have been celebrating for weeks! Anyway, this is what Erika looks like now that she is officially one year old! She is opening yet another gift. This one is a fisher price shopping cart from Maureen. Very cute. Funny thing about today is that I didn't even get to give Erika her gift from Peter and I. After her and I came home, Michelle and Isabelle came over. The girls played, Erika ate dinner, had a bath and went night night! I feel a little cheated but I know that I had her all day Sunday. Tonight she didn't want any part in celebrating again! I even have a beautiful party hat from Sonnya at work for Erika to wear.

Michelle brought over the most adorable little people set for Erika. It is the birthday set. Michelle and I had them all set up and the girls watched us play! The kids at school today were so sweet! I received over 20 cards and pictures for Erika. Also, I have students from last year stopping in to give me gifts for Erika! So so sweet!
I want to thank everyone who made Erika's birthday so special with all their happy wishes! I am so proud that one year ago today I gave birth to such an amazing baby girl! I have been remembering a year ago all day today. One of the BEST days in my life.
Here is a very short video of me singing (sorry) to Erika. Daddy wasn't home from work yet and so I had to do it solo! Erika wasn't thrilled but she dealt with it. This morning Peter and I greeted her in her crib by singing "Happy Birthday" and she didn't seem to like that either!

I apologize for this posting not being better for Erika's birthday. I am coming down with a cold and I am beyond tired! I have to get rest for our big birthday Laurie Berkner weekend!
