For a few weeks Erika has been working on feeding herself with food that can be picked up by hand. Lately she has decided that she is against being spoon fed and wants to ONLY feed herself. As you can see in the picture above, she really gets into her food and makes quite the mess. She has been eating vegetable ravioli, macaroni & cheese, diced fruit and peas & carrots. In between, while she is eating I supplement with the jar food to make sure she is getting enough. The thing about her feeding herself is that since a lot doesn't actually make it into her mouth, it is difficult to know how much she really ate. This morning I made her some eggs but that wasn't exactly a big hit. Tomorrow I will try french toast sticks.
When she gets this messy it is very difficult to get her all cleaned up unless it is bath time. She did have on a bib but tore it right off when I was in the kitchen. She does that allot!Today it rained and rained all day which was fine because then I couldn't run any errands which meant more hugging time with Erika. Of course I had to have a Easter photo shoot as well. Tomorrow will be part two. Below are three of my favorite pics from this afternoon.

I am still adjusting to the whole idea that she doesn't need me to hold her to go to sleep any more. Although I was so happy this morning because she fell asleep in my arms to take a nap. I was soaking it all up! I love the weekends because I get to spend time with Erika without any pressure. Here are a couple pictures right before she went "night night."

Love all the pics, especially the first one :) She is so adorable, even with food all over her face!
