Spending Saturday With Grandma Part 2

And look there they are! Grandma and Erika. Grandma was so so SO patient with Erika. Holding her little hand and letting her walk most of the time. I, on the other hand usually just scoop her up and carry her because it is quicker. I am sure though that it is better for Erika to do the walking. I think I spent the longest amount of time in Babies R Us that I ever have! Grandma is a real browser/shopper and Erika was well behaved so it went well. Grandma treated Erika to a pair of really cute jeans with a butterfly on them, TWO skirts (both beyond adorable) and 2 much needed larger sized bibs! THANK YOU GRANDMA!!!
I bought Erika another Elmo potty so that she could have one at Maureen's just like she has at home, a much needed towel for the bath, a tub toy and a booster seat so that she can sit at the table and eat with Peter and I. Actually the booster seat is from Aunt Kristin because she sent Erika a gift card for Christmas and we used it on that. So THANK YOU Aunt Kristin! I love Babies R Us and it is very difficult to control the amount of spending I do in that store! So many things Erika could use or that I love! It's a great store.
This car with the frog was on the way out of the store. Erika was very into sitting there until I put the two quarters in and it started to move! Then she wanted OUT! I knew it would either make her want to get out or make her want to stay forever! It was easier this way since then we didn't need to pull her out of the car. After that all three of us walked over to Panera Bread and had a nice lunch. The place was crazy busy and sounded extra loud to me with my clogged ear. Erika entertained Grandma by eating some chips off the table as if she were a cat! Cute but we didn't want to encourage that type of behavior to much! Erika had my mother laughing hysterical when we went to Kmart after Panera. Erika was doing this crazy walk with her arms back and slanting her body half way over. It was so funny. And then as you can see in the picture...she fell asleep sitting up in the shopping cart. First time ever! She looked so cute and Grandma felt really bad for her because she thought Erika would get a stiff neck.
It was so shocking to me watching her eyes closing and then be asleep like that because she is so not like that! Once she was sleeping it was very relaxing for me to be able to be in a store and actually get to look at things without having to constantly entertain her. I didn't buy much but it was just so nice and my mother and I were able to talk without interruption too. We stayed in Kmart FOREVER! But it was a good forever. There is my mother being silly and pretending she is sleeping with Erika! We both have the same humor because that reminds me of something I would do. And Peter says that he sees a lot of me in that picture of my mother. Anyway, time was ticking and we finally said our goodbyes. It was such a nice day. Low key and fun - just what I needed. Erika and I were sad to say goodbye to my mother because we enjoy seeing her. And then when we came home, I made pizza and Erika was able to test out her new booster seat and also one of her really nice bibs from Grandma. it was a very nice Saturday for Erika and I.

You and your mom look like twins according to that pic with Erika! I can't believe she fell asleep either! Reminds me of Indira in her walker!
