Today was a nice day with Erika. I made a pancake, egg and sausage breakfast and the three of us ate at the dining room table. I love having Erika at the table with us. I didn't think I would but I do! It's not that I didn't want her, I just thought it would be a big mess but it actually seems to be less of a mess than the high chair. I can't believe I am putting the high chair away.
Hmmm...it will be out again someday! Anyway, she is eating great again. Peter and I couldn't believe how much she consumed today. A total EATING MACHINE!
In the morning we just played and spent time together as a family. It was a treat to have Peter home this Saturday because lately he has been working so much. Down side is that the reason he was home is that he is sick. Bronchitis. So now him and I are on the same medication. This house is definitely the infirmary! Today Erika seems to be feeling fine and her nose is running less than yesterday so that is all great news!
After Erika took her nap, her and I gave Daddy a break. We went out to run some errands so that he could nap. First to the car wash/oil change, then gas station and finally the food store. The temperature was freezing and miserable! This weather is like living in an ice box. Funny thing is that it never seems
to even phase Erika. I don't know if it is because I have her bundled so well or if they just don't notice the weather like we do!
Erika behaved great while her and I ran errands. I told her it was freezing and then she kept repeating the word freezing over and over. But of course to me, hearing her say it sounded so adorable! I just love her little voice. I think she is entering the "independent" stage where she doesn't want help but will eventually ask for it if she gets frustrated. I have witnessed this enough to feel it to be true.
On a good side note, I seem to have her constipation
issues under control. This is ironic because I have her specialist appointment scheduled for
February 3rd. But if she continues the way she has been, I will cancel that
appointment. As for my health, my ear is getting better every day but now I have this dry
hacking cough that is making my throat hurt. Does it ever end??
And so even though it wasn't exactly an exiting day, it was a really nice day because I had my baby and husband all day! Night night.
