My 2nd Mother's Day

Hard to believe for me but this is only my second official Mother's Day! We started the celebration last night with a very special treat from the Chinese place. I ordered some incredible appetizers and sushi. Very yummy. Erika was already in bed and we were able to eat in peace. It was really nice and quite the treat. Then Sunday morning came and Erika gave me a gift. Apparently she knows that Daddy gives the best foot massages! She gave me a whole set of foot massage creams and reflexology treatments. Oh and a silly/cute card as well. Erika is really thoughtful...she must have had some help from Daddy. I also won $50.00 on a scratch of from Pat and Pete.
In the morning we went to church which was really nice. the church did a great job of honoring the women/mothers. Even the sermon kind of was in honor of the day. Erika came into church with us again for the first half and did pretty well. When we were at coffee hour Erika saw this man that is always there and told Peter and I that it was Opa (my grandfather). So sweet. She thought that because Peter always shows her pictures of Opa and then she saw this man that did resemble him and so she said that was Opa. It was a touching moment for sure. After church Daddy and Erika gave me some quiet time while they went to Home Depot. I cooked a GREAT dinner for us and our neighbor Carol. I honestly didn't mind doing the cooking because we had such a special treat last night. Erika took a really nice nap. So nice that I actually had to wake her because I was afraid she would never go to bed!At about 5:00 we decided to spend some family time at a park that we have been wanting to try out. It turned out to be a really nice one. Erika met a little 3 year old boy named Johnathan. They played so nicely together. And when we left, Erika gave him a hug! I keep teasing her about it too.Being a mother is the best feeling ever. I just can't get enough of it. Hopefully one day in the future Erika will have a brother or sister as well. I LOVE BEING A MOMMY. I feel like I was born for the position!
