Memorial Day

It was so nice last night to go to sleep and know that the next day I would be getting up to spend the day with Erika. I do like being a working Mommy but my heart really misses my girl too! So let's see, Erika was up at 7:00 which is a perfect time for all of us. I made a really nice cheese omelet for all of us and we just had a nice and slow morning. I love how Erika looks in the picture above - like a little doll. I wish she was looking up but even though she isn't, I still think it is a great picture of her!I took her to the park around 11:00 and she amazed me once again. She was climbing things that she didn't climb the last time we were at this park. That was only about two weeks ago (Mothers Day). Well today she climbed a few things without giving it a second thought. I stood there and watched thinking "Do I know this kid?"Last time we went Peter was her guide for helping her climb this yellow chain. That was also when there was an older boy Johnathan that was climbing up no problem. Boy would he be impressed if he saw her now!I couldn't stay at the park too long because I forgot the sunblock at home and didn't want her to get burned. Besides she kept telling me that she wanted to go in the pool at home. When we were driving home I could tell she was tired and so I started preparing her for the idea that when we went home she would do some night night and then we can set up the pool. Lucky for me Erika is pretty easy going and didn't have a problem with my plan! Erika climbing the wobbly ladder as if it were nothing!

Erika attempting the wobbly bridge but quickly changing her mind about that one. I am sure she will be a pro by the next time I bring her! After her nap she was all hyped up for the pool and so I changed her into her suit right away. WELL...she didn't happen to like this suit and made that pretty clear. "i don't like it, I don't like it." "I am not happy...not happy." Oh my goodness she is not even officially two yet and she is already complaining about the clothing I have for her???We had to bribe her with an ice pop to calm her down. I sure hope she doesn't pull that routine every time I put that bathing suit on her!And so here is the best part...she never even went in the pool! I must have made 30 trips in and out of the house putting warm water in the pool for her and she never even went in! We did go for a really nice walk with Aunt Judy and Erika's doll carriage.

Man, she knows how to kick back and relax better than I do!

What a big girl climbing all that stuff. I love that suit...too bad she didn't. I know they are way to young. I know Indira already is telling me no when I put certain shoes on her. And if I do her hair she has to look in the mirror to make sure it is "pittyy" (pretty).
