Rough Day For Erika

Today was my first day off of a total of 5 for Thanksgiving. After a lot of debating back and forth, peter and I decided to get Erika vaccinated for the H1N1 and seasonal flu. When I had gone to the doctor for the bronchitis, she really stressed how important it is for her age and also the fact that we will have a newborn in January at the heart of flu season. Both vaccinations were thimerosal free which we were glad about. It was tough on her and me. First the mist in the nose and then the shot in the arm. My poor girl didn't know what hit her. I felt terrible. And after the mist I had to hold her down so she wouldn't sit up and that meant I couldn't even hug her! Anyway, she really recovered from the whole situation pretty well. It's now Sunday as I type this and she has shown no signs of getting sick from either shot. Unfortunately they take 2-4 weeks to be effective and she has to go back in 28 days for the second dose of H1N1.
We spent the rest of the day napping and just snuggling and playing.
