Today we went to our new church and Erika went to Sunday school. When we went to bring her to her teacher (I forgot her name), the teacher told us some really sad news which also hit so close to home that it is freaky. Apparently a 37 year old woman who was a long time member of the church and in the choir passed away on Friday night. She was in a Toyota SUV (same vehicle I had) with her husband (who is 12 years older...like Peter and I) and one and a half year old daughter (like Erika). They were on the same road that I was on when I had my accident this summer and a car swerved at them and she died shortly after while at the hospital. This woman (Jennifer) was also a school teacher in the district where I live. Church was beyond sad today. The minister called all the children up and spoke with them about what has happened to their teacher. I didn't even know the woman but shed a few tears anyway because I hurt so bad for all of the members of the church and her husband and daughter. The entire congregation was devastated. It is so so sad. And so weird for me with all the similarities involved.
On a happier note, Erika did great in Sunday school today. The teacher said that Erika is an angel and adjusts well. She made a paper doll of herself today that they are going to hang on the wall at church. I wanted to take a picture of it to share on the blog but the timing was not appropriate. It was cute when the teacher showed us because Erika was so proud that she was even clapping. Also today the teacher told us how excited Erika gets when she puts on the music...which we knew already but it is always fun to hear it from someone else. I am so proud of my baby girl.
I have discovered that Erika LOVES Kix cereal. She keeps saying "more more" and hands me the bowl! I think she may even like them more that the Gerber Puffs! Now that is hard to believe. I also keep meaning to mention that Erika is still on the bottle. that transition didn't go so smooth! But truthfully, she doesn't even finish the bottle any more so maybe she is weaning herself off of it!
Grandma and Grandpa did come over today but that will be in a special posting all of its own!

My thoughts go out to that family. How sad! Glad Erika is liking Sunday school and I am happy that you guys are going each week!
