My Sick Little Girl

Friday morning Erika woke up at 3:50 totally miserable. She was gagging which eventually led to throwing up. I think she had some major post nasal drip going on. Peter and I worked as a team (which I thought was really cool) and evenly arranged our work schedules to take care of Erika. So he stayed home to take care of her till 12:00 and I worked till 11:00, making it home by 12:00. So basically we both worked about half a day.
At 1:30 I took her to the doctor. Her fever was under control at that point because Peter had given her the Motrin at 10:30. Anyway, they checked her all out, including a strep test (her very first strep test) because her throat was red. The strep test came back negative and basically they said she is sick...$36.00 in co-pays later! Also the doctor said that this is just the beginning and it will get worse before it gets better. So far since yesterday he is right on.
It's not often that I give Peter compliments but I have to mention that he is doing an AWESOME job at taking care of Erika while she is sick and in between he has been diligently working on my computer which needed a new hard drive. Thanks to my father who had bought me one for Christmas many years back. I am lucky to have such a dedicated husband and Erika is lucky to have such a dedicated Daddy!
Last night Erika was up at 12:30, 1:30 - 3:00 and then at 6:00 again. She is so miserable. High fever and sad. Difficult to comfort and console. If it weren't bad enough that she is sick...we have a Laurie Berkner concert tomorrow with 7th row seats!! Michelle was coming too and is now also sick but with something else than Erika. It is not looking too promising for any of us to go! This will be the second Laurie Berkner concert that we couldn't attend! We will see how everyone is in the morning. In the mean time, if I get sick my surgery will be postponed and I will be risking completely destroying my joint and it will be a mess with taking days off at work!
Other than all that...things are just dandy! LOL
