Loving My Day Off With Erika

What a nice day I had with Erika today. She had another rough night and was up a couple of times. Without getting too descriptive, Erika has the worst diaper rash I have ever seen and it is causing her a great deal of pain and so I suspect that may be waking her at night. The rash was caused by all the intestinal issues she has been having. Anyway, help is on the way. I called the doctor today and they told me of a special (yet extremely expensive) cream to put on her. I am hoping that this will bring my little girl some well deserved relief. So after the 5:00 wake up call and back down again by 6:00 Erika was back up for the day by 8:00. Peter got up with her but I had to roll out of bed and take over because he had to work today. So I made some yummy slow cook oatmeal for Daddy and some eggs for Erika. Erika played and I cleaned up the kitchen. After a bath, some playing and eating Erika was ready for a nap. She slept from 10:00 - almost 2:00. Poor baby must have been exhausted. While she slept I was a very busy Mommy getting so much accomplished. Maybe i can actually sleep tonight without my "to do" list running through my head. When Erika awoke she was in an incredibly great mood. Who wouldn't be after a nap like that! She had some yummy lunch and we went out to run a few errands. While we were out, Miss. Michelle called and invited us out for some post Thanksgiving shopping. I wasn't up for shopping but suggested a coffee gathering at Panera. We met there and had a good time. Belle was at home with her aunt so Erika had all of Miss. Michelle's attention. Erika was enjoying every moment of it.After all that caffeine at Panera we decided to head for a round in Toys R Us. I actually found a toy that I already had bought for Erika $8.00 cheaper so i bought it and will return the other one. That is too big of a difference to pass up. We had fun just checking out all the fun toys and struggling to not buy everything "WE" like for our girls. When we came home Erika spent time playing with Daddy while I prepared the dinner. It's not that it was an overly exciting day more of a day that I felt Erika caught up on rest, I caught up on some chores and we spent some quality time together.Tomorrow Daddy wants to put up Christmas lights with Erika. That should be fun! A few people in the neighborhood already have their lights up and Erika keeps pointing at them and she says "see... see."

That sounds like a good day! Getting lots done, happy baby and saving money on shopping! Wish I was there! Sorry for Erika's rash. I remember when Arjun had the worst one in the beginning of the summer. I felt so bad for him. Because of that, I started making my own wipes and only using it on poopy diapers. Oh what we do for our kids! Love and hugs
