The Weekend

Saturday was the first day in awhile that I actually didn't leave the house! It was nice to not have to go somewhere. Sometimes I think I just come up with some place to go so that there is something to do with Erika. But today instead we just set up the backyard and spent some time playing. The sun was out and the weather was nice so it was a perfect backyard day.

Once again the pool was NOT a hit. Sure she loves to fill it up with all her toys but when I actually put her in there, she screams so that the entire neighborhood can hear! I still have hope that maybe she will change her mind over the summer. Something cute that Erika has been doing lately is when she is eating something she will stop and then say to me "you want some Mommy?" "Here have some, just try it." Some times i really don't want whatever she is eating but it gets difficult to refuse when she asks in such an adorable way. Oh i know she also says "you want a piece?"One thing that has remained a constant with Erika since the day we brought her home from the hospital is her love for being outside. It seems she could stay out all day! She ALWAYS wants to go out. Even first thing in the morning she will say to put her shoes on so that we can go out!We also took a walk with her baby, which happens to be another favorite of hers. When we are walking, i tell her that her baby is crying and then she stops and picks up the baby, gives a quick hug and then puts her back in the stroller. Cracks me up!When we came back from the walk, she enjoyed an ice pop while I cleaned up all the outside toys. Daddy took it slow today because he seems to have something wrong with possibly his kidneys. he has a pain in his back going into the front. He went to the Dr and they tested for infection but nothing showed up. She said possibly kidney stones but at this point nothing is definite. Anyway, he isn't feeling well and that was actually another reason we stayed close to home.

Come to think of it, ice pops have been another thing that Erika has loved since early on. That's another request she usually has first thing in the morning!Not only did Erika request that I take the picture above, but she also wanted to run and get the sponge to have in the picture! So strange! But silly!Sunday we all went to the movies to see Up. Well actually let me back up a minute. Erika got us up at 5:25! We were both exhausted! So when we put her down for a nap at 8:30, we also took a nap and thankfully she slept till after 11:00! Then we all got ready for the day and went to the movies. peter still isn't feeling well but said he felt good enough to sit at a movie. The movie was great (sad) and Erika did really well at the movies. I wouldn't be telling the truth if I said we got there and she just sat down. But she did settle in and watch the entire movie. I must admit it was really nice to be out. Ridiculously expensive but nice.
