Today Erika was involved in a ceremony at church. It was what they call "pins and awards day." She was called up to receive a small gift and then stood upfront for quite awhile with the other children in her Sunday school class. She really did great and not once did she indicate she wanted to come back and sit with Mommy & Daddy.
Erika has DEFINITELY learned various things in Sunday school since we have been bringing her to church. Just the other day she picked up a children's bible my mother had given her and she was pointing out Jesus and telling us that she is reading her bible. It was one of those moments where Peter and I looked at each other like "Oh my goodness...did you just hear her?"
Keeping her in church with us for the first half of service has become more and more difficult each week. She is restless and then starts to whine that she wants to go home. Honestly i really can't blame her because it is rough sometimes for me to sit there so i can't imagine what it is like for a 2 year old!
After church we came home and Erika went right in for a nap. Sometimes that doesn't work out so well if she has loaded up on sweets at coffee hour. But today i don't think she had any and so she went right to sleep. Good thing because we had a birthday celebration planned at Grandma and Grandpa's house...next post!
