Party Animals!

Today was a great day...especially because I didn't have to be apart from Erika...aka...my heart. This morning we decided to have a pre-birthday treat and had egg sandwiches from the deli. We haven't done that in so long mainly due to economics. Anyway, it was a really nice idea and a really nice treat! Funny how when you don't do things for a long time and then do them again...they feel extra special.
Shortly after my breakfast treat....multi colored beautiful roses arrived from my mother. They made me so happy and made me smile which was really nice. Erika and I set those up in a vase. Maybe a picture to come tomorrow. Then Daddy and Erika went out for a bit to do some birthday shopping. I stayed home...of course and did a little bit of school work. I prepared for a lesson on teaching converting fractions to percents. I really am the jack of all trades with teaching this year.
When they came home it was nap time for Miss. Erika as well as for Mommy. She took a two and a half hour nap! And that was after even getting up a bit late this morning. We really needed her to take a nice nap because we had a fun night planned for the birthday celebration.
When Erika woke up, we went to the movies to see "Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs." It was in 3D and really a great movie. I still like "Up" better but this one was pretty good as well. Erika was Great. She behaved the best yet for a movie. Basically she sat on my lap the entire time. I was impressed not to mention very pleased. I tried to get a picture of her with her 3D glasses on but both pictures that I took didn't come out good. She looked really cute in them.
Then after the movie (it was about 7:30) we went out for dinner at an Italian restaurant. It was so yummy. Erika had spaghetti and meatballs, I had shrimp and chicken and Peter had chicken picata. Everything was great including Erika's behavior at the restaurant. It really was a nice time. And THAT was EXACTLY what I wanted for my birthday and that was what I got!
