NO Cutting!

No more cutting down Christmas tree's for this family EVER! Gee....everyone makes it sound like so much fun, so we decided to give it a try. Today after church, we bundled up Erika and took Aunt Judy with us to the tree farm to cut down our tree. We thought it would be a fun time for Erika. Ha! who were we all kidding.

Erika fell asleep on the way there and so I had to haul her in and we kept saying "why are we doing this if she is sleeping?" The wind was blowing which was making the already freezing temperatures even more unbearable. We picked up our saw and started the hunt. Of course we all had different opinions as to which tree was best.

After a few minutes of walking around looking at the trees, Erika woke up to join in the festivities. I would say after 20 minutes we finally settled on one and Peter got down on the ground to start sawing it down. Poor peter...that was not an easy task and the wind was blowing. It was so crazy. We were so grateful that the man in the picture above came along and offered to use his chain saw to cut the tree down. He was without a doubt "heaven sent."

But the work wasn't done because now Aunt Judy and Daddy had to haul the tree all the way back to the entrance. The tree was very heavy. I tried switching once with Peter for him to take a break and oh my goodness was that tree heavy!Then the tree was put into the net. Erika and I went to get my car and then Judy and Peter worked hard at putting it on the car. We better LOVE this tree because we all agreed that we will NEVER cut down a tree again. No more cutting!Tonight we have a big event at the church so hopefully that will be nice.
