Fun in the crib

Yup...that is left over dinner on Erika's nose! If the picture wasn't so cute then I wouldn't post it, but maybe the food on the nose makes it even cuter...I don't know! Last night I had a tough time feeding Erika her dinner. She just cried through the whole thing and it was miserable for both her and I. This isn't the first time that she has done this. So stressed out Mommy called Michelle (Isabelle's Mommy) and she had a great suggestion for me which I tried out tonight at dinner time. Michelle told me if I give Erika one of her own spoons to play with, then she will eat and guess what??? IT WORKS! Tonight Erika ate so well. Some kind of ginger chicken is what lingers on her nose. Then she had green beans and some fruit for dessert.

Being back at work makes for a tired Mommy. It is so difficult to do both jobs - Mommy and Teacher. When I come home from work, after my hour long drive Erika takes # 1 priority and that basically consumes the night. After she goes to bed at 7:00 or 7:30, I start preparing for the next day. I haven't gotten back into the swing of leaving her yet because I miss her all day. It is difficult too because by the time I get to her, my "batteries" are already running low. Yesterday and today I recharged with a cup of coffee on the way home.

As you can see in these crib pictures, Mommy and Daddy really need to move her mattress down a notch. I can't believe how quickly time has passed because it doesn't seem that long ago that Peter was putting the crib together and now we already need to move the mattress down. What next...will Erika be in college?? It is past time to take down her mobile as well but she loves it so much that I don't want to take it away from her even though I know it could be a hazard.

Erika is such a happy child and such a pleasure. She makes me look forward to every day in a way that I never knew even existed!

I am so glad that you are not taking Erika for granted. A child is the most precious gift. I am sorry you have to play duo roles. keep up the good work.
