8 month check-up

Even though Erika is 8 and a half months old, today she went for her 8 month check-up. She did great today, even with her shot. Only a little crying and then a hug from Mommy made it all better. Erika weighs 20pounds and 12 ounces, which means she gained a little over a pound since December. I thought for sure she weighed more than that. She is 29 inches long which is one inch longer than the December visit. She is still taller, heavier and her head is bigger than 9 out of 10 babies her same age. Again the doctor reminded me that as long as it is all in proportion, then it is all good. I asked him about her holding the bottle and basically, Erika is just lazy! Honestly, I don't want to give up holding the bottle for her anyway! I love that time between her and I. I also questioned the doctor about Erika not clapping. It was very funny, because he asked me if I have been trying to teach her to clap and I said no...and then he asked me how would she know how to clap if you don't teach her. GOOD POINT!! I had to laugh. It's really true too because I teach her how to wave all the time and she does it. He was very impressed that she says cat and Bob. I asked about the fact that she seems like she always has a cold and basically he told me that is normal in a baby...weird but I have to trust him. Her next visit is in April.

Look how little she still looks in this picture of her on the scale.
Here she is getting ready this morning to head out to the doctor. She is showing off her new towel! Her baby towels are way too small for her at this point.

Erika playing peek a boo. It is difficult to hear but she usually pulls the blankets off her face and says "boo." Short for peek a boo.

And last but not least my tired little one asleep in her crib after a great visit at the doctor!

Glad she had a good visit. That is funny about clapping! I don't blame you about the bottle holding but for me with two of them it would cerainly help!
