Okay so let me start by stating that I am so close to putting up my little "I surrender" white flag and waving it back and forth. I don't want to turn Erika's blog into my venting page but....I am done! I can't keep up with life. I am 4 weeks away from delivery of Baby Christopher which means I am feeling like garbage. SEVERE heartburn, tired, big belly, trouble walking and so on. Erika rarely sleeps through the night since we switched her to the toddler bed, so there is always interrupted sleep. We did get the falling out of bed situation mostly under control but she just doesn't sleep the same any more. Working full time, especially teaching is really really wearing me down. And then there is all the "other stuff." So I do apologize for the lack of blogging these days. I love blogging and don't like that I never have time for it any more.

So, tonight was the annual Christmas party at work. Every year they organize a cute party for all the teachers children. It's a nice time and fun to see your co-workers other life! Lot's of people come. This year Erika was most excited due to the fact that she actually understood that Santa Claus was going to be there. I was excited for her. And let the truth be known...I really had zero energy in me to go but I did it for Erika. And I am glad I did.

Before we left I took some quick pictures of Erika in her cute Christmas dress from Grandma (my mom). I kinda figured that once the party got started she might not look as fresh any more! And I wanted some pictures to make our Christmas card this year. They came out great! But that's because Erika looked like a cutie!

Thank you to Michelle for this BEAUTIFUL coat that she gave Erika. Belle had an extra dress up coat and so they let us borrow this one. We love it! I wish I had a coat like this. Erika looked like a little doll all dressed up. On the way home from Lori's today she kept telling me "Mommy, I can't go to the party like this...I need to get all dressed up." She makes me laugh.

So before the party, we met up with Grandam at the diner that is close to my school where I teach. I had not had any dinner and was craving a bowl of soup. We spent about a half hour there and then went to the party. When Grandma pulled into the parking lot at the diner, Erika got so excited and I had to hold on to her so that she didn't run right into the parking lot!

Below is a picture of Erika with her new friend Katherine, the daughter of someone that I work with. They had so much fun together. And when Erika couldn't find Katherine she would say "Mommy where's my friend? Where did she go?"

Oh and by the way, Erika's behavior is doing great again. We changed our method of dealing with her and she is doing really well. That was really stressing me out!

Grandma and Erika had so much fun together. They made a snow measure together. They played together and just really had a good time.

And then....the big moment arrived....SANTA came. I will have you know Erika was the first and basically only kid in the entire room to run up and hug Santa. It was a moment to remember forever! Can you see the smile on her face? She was so happy to see him! It was the best.

Then all this kids gathered and Santa gave out some gifts.

Erika got a Dora doll, which she was very pleased with. Different from last year when she actually went to give her gift back to Santa!

And well, it was such a nice night and I am so glad I went. I am also glad that my mother came. It has become a tradition. Next year we will have two to bring! YIKES!
