Starting my blog.

I have decided to start this blog so that I don't forget all the little things that have happened since Erika came into my life. So, this entry will be some back -tracking of my pregnancy.

I became pregnant with Erika in September of 2006. Being that I am a teacher and wanted to spend the summer with my newborn, she was a very planned pregnancy! So lucky that I am, she was conceived without a problem.

I was not one of those people who enjoyed being pregnant. It seemed as if I was sick from day one. In fact, I was put on medication my entire pregnancy just to keep me functioning. Thank goodness for Zofran (the medication I was prescribed).

Erika was a very active baby while growing inside Mommy. She had definite routines. Up every night at 9:00, which was when I always wanted to go to bed. She had me craving hot and spicy like you wouldn't believe. I was eating fire hot Dorito's at 6:30 in the morning before my students would come in to class! GROSS! I wanted hot sauce so bad, I was practically drinking it. However, I think Erika's favorite was icecream beacuse every time I would eat that, without fail, she would bounce around.

When I found out that I was having a girl, I was so happy. Her name was already chosen since she is named after my grandmother. Her middle name JoAnne is the female version of the name John which is after my grandfather. Ann is also in honor of Peters grandmother. My grandparents were two very very special people to me and it is an incredible feeling that my daughter shares in their names. Erika is very lucky to share names with such special special people.

Erika was due June 15th but decided to come on June 3rd.

This is me 17 weeks pregnant. Funny because I remember thinking that I was getting BIG! Ha, I had no idea what BIG was really going to be.

And here is 37 weeks, very close to when I delivered. Big difference from when I thought I was big already!
