My Day With Erika

Yesterday (Monday) Daddy stayed home with Erika while I had two dr's appointments to go to. In between the appointments I slowly did some errands. But today was my first real day off from work with Erika. I am so glad that I took this week off from work. One - physically I am not too sure i could have done it and two - I am so thankful to have the time with Erika. There she is the BIG SISTER standing next to her brother's swing. It is so weird getting all that stuff back out again. Not just weird though...a bit scary too! I can't believe the size of her next to that swing. I have pictures of her all swaddled up in that swing and she is tiny.

Today I definitely pushed myself way too much because by the end of the day I was in tears from the pain in my leg and back. I tried to give Erika my all. We started our day with breakfast at McDonald's. both of our favorite thing to do! She had fun because there were three boys there that she found very entertaining. I think they were about 4 years old. They were full of energy...which of course scared me!
Then we went to the outlets to do two exchanges/returns. What would a trip to the outlets be without a apple ride! It cracks me up how much she loves that ride! makes her smile every time. At that point I was already getting pretty worn down. But we continued on!

I had promised her that we would buy the "Cloudy with A Chance Of Meatballs" movie today. Today is the first day it is out and we had seen it in the movie theater. It was really good and definitely worth buying. In my opinion not as good as "Up" but still a really great movie. Anyway, I couldn't find a movie store at the outlets so we were heading to blockbuster when I suddenly thought of CVS. I called them and they had it! What a relief.
After nap time, we had some yummy M&M's and watched the movie when we noticed there was a package waiting for Erika out on the bench on our porch! How exciting! We love surprises. This one was another Christmas present from Erika's Oma (Peters mother).
Of course she was excited and started right in on ripping it open. I remember when she used to struggle to open a package! Not any more! Now she is a pro at this stuff.
You can see that she is working very hard at that box!
Still going!
It's a cash register! It is true that she did just get a cash register from my mother but really they are both very different with different functions on each one. They both came with coins that I already confiscated. As mature as Erika is in so many ways, when it comes to putting stuff in her mouth she still makes me nervous. Even at nap time I take the clip out of her hair because we caught her a few times putting it in her mouth!
There she is getting right to work scanning some food. She likes doing the debit card too. She says "It's gonna be debit." Which is exactly what I always say.
And then the excitement continued. Earlier when Erika and I had cone to bath & Body Works, she picked out a very tightly sealed duck wash cloth. It was one of those that had to be soaked in water. For 1.75, she sure had a lot of fun with that!

There she is giving her duck wash cloth a bath!
Watching it grow.
A very happy duck wash cloth owner!

It is so unbelievably nice being home with Erika. I am glad I took this week to be with her. It is true I pushed myself too much today but I think it may have been worth it. I had a GREAT day with her. She is doing so good too. I have her in a routine. She seems so much better since she is not being pulled out of her bed every day at 6 in the morning and shipped off while Mommy and Daddy work. In a perfect world I would be a stay at home Mommy.
